We’re lucky it’s been a warm dry winter so far at Hendwr. We hope you have had a good winter and we hope to see you at Hendwr Caravan Park this spring. We have made a few changes to the small number of vacant the static caravan pitches on the park over the winter by concreting the bases ready for new static caravans to be sited on the bases. With this work almost complete John has been shopping for some really nice used static caravans for sale which will be arriving in April for everyone to take a look at. If you are looking for anything in particular do please let us know.
We only have one seasonal touring pitch vacant at the moment so if you or a friend are looking for a pitch speed is of the essence this year!
Great news for Debbie Alun and Rhys – they are expecting an a second baby in May of this year – we wish them the very best of luck.
We have also been really busy building our small anaerobic digester on the farm to take all of our waste farm manures and slurry, this will provide our home made electricity for the caravan park when we commission it in April of this year. In addition the anaerobic digestion process will remove odour and significantly enhance the fertiliser value of our manures and slurry to help us grow more grass on the farm. Here is a picture of what we have been building.
The first batch of lambs have had a very good run, we were a bit nervous because of a new virus that was about in the flocks laming locally in January called Schmallenberg that is transmitted by midges biting ewes at tupping time (when the Barry White music is on in the autumn). Hopefully this means we will have a clean run all the way through lambing.
Finally we are still keen to put together photos of Hendwr caravan park over the last 50 years – thank you to those of you that have shared photos with us if you have any please scan and email or post or come into the reception and we can copy them and give them back to you.
We look forward to seeing you all soon
John and Philip Hughes
